February Full of Fun

This post is just a random sampling of some of the things we have done this month.

Yes, it's true. Zach and Branden played in their swimsuits in the backyard.  In February.  Thank you, San Diego.

And if that wasn't enough...they also had a lemonade stand.  They were so stoked when people would give them a whole quarter because they didn't have a nickel on them.

Zach checked out a "Star Wars Craft Book" from the library.  He was so excited.  Jesse made the Han Solo in carbonite (melted Ivory soap) with him.  Bath time has been even more fun ever since.  I made him the Yoda doll - out of felt, complete with googly eyes.  No picture yet.  He also wanted to make a Wookie Bird Feeder. It was a half gallon container with a square cut out of the front and then painted to look like a Wookie, with the hole being the mouth.  But the more he thought about it, he felt the birds would be scared the Wookie would eat them. So he opted not to make it.

We celebrated Valentine's Day.  This year I did "14 Days of Valentines" for Jesse.  It was fun to leave little notes and treats for him in his car, his bag for work, by his toothbrush, etc. and let him know each day how much I love him.  On Valentine's Day we had heart-shaped pancakes with strawberry sauce.  I went for a "nice dinner" that night by candelight with the kids that night.  We had Tuscan Ravioli with Olive Garden breadsticks and salad.  It was fun.  We had made sugar cookies on Sunday after church. Haven't done that in a long time, so we had a good time making them this year.

Branden was pretty covered in flour.  Fortunately the ones we were giving away were already given. :)

For school we were doing some studies of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  Zach and Branden wanted to do some crafts, so here is what they made.

And the month isn't even over yet!  More fun to come.
